Your First Visit to Rigby Chiropractic in Tremonton
Many people put off seeing a chiropractor because they are not sure what will happen. We get it. At Rigby Chiropractic, your first appointment is built around listening, testing and explaining, and nothing happens without your understanding and consent.
Plan on about 60 minutes for your first visit. Follow-up visits are usually much shorter.
Before You Arrive
A little preparation helps us spend more time on you and less time on paperwork.
- Complete your intake forms online. You can find them on our patient forms page.
- Bring your ID and insurance card, if you plan to use insurance.
- Bring any recent imaging or reports, such as X-rays, MRIs or notes from another provider.
- List your medications and supplements.
- Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move and bend easily.
- Arrive 10 minutes early so you can settle in without feeling rushed.
Step by Step: How Your First Appointment Works
-
1. Welcome and Check-In
Our front desk team will greet you, confirm your information and answer any quick questions about insurance or payment. If you have not completed your forms ahead of time, we will help you finish them here.
-
2. Consultation With Dr. Rigby
You will sit down with Micah Rigby, DC to talk through what brought you in. Expect questions about when your symptoms started, what makes them better or worse, your health history, your work and activity level, and your goals. This is your time, so share anything you think matters.
-
3. Thorough Examination
Next comes a hands-on exam designed to find where your problem is coming from, not just where it hurts. Depending on your situation, this may include:
- Posture and spinal alignment assessment
- Range-of-motion testing
- Orthopedic and neurological tests, such as reflexes, strength and sensation
- Gentle palpation of muscles and joints
- Balance or gait observation
-
4. Imaging or Additional Testing, If Needed
Not everyone needs X-rays. If your history or exam suggests imaging would change how we care for you, we will explain why before taking any. In some cases, we may refer you to another provider for further testing.
-
5. Your Report of Findings
We will walk you through what we found in plain language: what is likely causing your symptoms, what care may help, how long improvement typically takes, and what it costs. If chiropractic care is not the right fit, we will tell you and point you toward the right provider.
-
6. Your First Treatment
When it is appropriate and you are comfortable, we may begin care the same day. That could include a gentle adjustment, soft-tissue work or another therapy suited to your needs. You can always ask questions or decide to take time to think it over first.
After Your First Visit
Some people feel relief right away. Others notice mild soreness for a day or two, similar to how muscles feel after a new workout. Drinking water, staying gently active and following any home care we recommend can help.
Your care plan will spell out how often we recommend visits and when we will re-check your progress. Plans change as you improve, and we review them with you along the way.
Ready to Get Started?
Your first step toward feeling better takes about an hour. Schedule online or give our Tremonton office a call, and we will take it from there.
